Business Manager: Job Responsibilities:
Acts as the strategic driver of the leadership team and works closely with the team to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
Manages the overall strategy, purpose, and vision of the company. This includes the entire Human Resources function: benefits, payroll, superannuation, recruitment, learning and development, culture, performance management, and succession planning.
Coaches, supports, and develops the team to ensure they are delivering against key business metrics, including the company Strategic Plan.
Consults with the Executive team, subject matter experts and business consultants to meet or exceed NDIS Quality minimum standards. improve quality, efficiency, and productivity, reduce costs, increase profits, or improve control measures.
Works with internal and external subject matter experts to develop policies and procedures that meet disability service standards.
Works collaboratively with direct reports to manage risk, develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls, and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of the firm and insure excellent client service.
Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the company at monthly executive meetings.
Leads and develops a team across multiple locations and over various functions.
Motivates and leads a high-performance management team.
Attracts, recruits, and retains required members of the executive team not currently in place.
Provides mentoring as a cornerstone to the management career development program. Collaborates with the management team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of systems, processes, and personnel designed to accommodate the rapid growth objectives of our organization.
Demonstrates a willingness to take on new tasks with a general attitude that no task is too small, impossible, or cannot be improved.
Work autonomously while ensuring CEO expectations are readily met and exceeded.
Fosters a success-oriented, accountable environment within the company.
Represents the firm with participants and business partners with professionalism and diplomacy.
Works collaboratively with the Business Improvement Manager on HR, training, recruitment and Quality Service Implementation, including adherence to the NDIS Quality Services Framework.
This role will encompass a 38-hour working week, based at our head office in Westpoint Blacktown. The role will require visitation of Supported Independent Living facilities, representation of the company to stakeholders and promotional activities as directed by the CEO.
Business Manager Selection Criteria.
At least 5 years’ experience in a Senior Disability Services Role.
Demonstrated team leadership skills.
Advanced problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
A comprehensive understanding of disability and NDIS culture.
HR Management in medium to large working environments, including all elements of performance management and industrial relations.
Financial planning, literacy, and measurement.
Strategic, operational, and business planning.
Continuous Improvement and efficiency focus
Budget and performance forecasting
Marketing and business development
Budget development
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in social sciences or disability services
Qualifications in finance, accounting, or business management.
An understanding of the NDIS Quality Framework.
Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a related field
In-depth understanding of the industry including risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements
In-depth understanding of accounting principles including budgeting, balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, and asset management
Demonstrated strategic leadership ability.
