The German International School Sydney (GISS) is currently seeking an experienced, committed, and passionate Business Manager to join our team.

The GISS is a small international school offering a bilingual education programme (German and English) from Preschool to the bilingual IB-Diploma. It is registered by NESA and accredited by the Federal Republic of Germany as a German School Abroad.

The school is a highly reputable co-educational school that has a rich history of quality education and aims to provide an enjoyable workplace for its staff.

About the role:

The Business Manager oversees the administration function of the school and is a highly valued member of the senior leadership team at GISS. Leading a team of 9 staff this is a rare opportunity to contribute to the success of the school. The Business Manager has a joint reporting line to the School Board on financial and compliance matters and to the principal for matter concerning day-to-day administration. You will enjoy the opportunity to work within a multilingual community in an inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities include:

· Strategically managing the schools' financials. This includes the preparation and implementation of the annual budget.

· Financial reporting including monthly Board reporting.

· Board Company Secretariat Duties.

· Government reporting and compliance.

· WH&S.

· Human Resources support.

· Leadership of the administration team including, but not limited to, the registrar, marketing and IT department as well as building and grounds keeping staff.

· Fostering positive community and business relations and ensuring the school is positively represented at all times.

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

· CA or CPA qualification a significant plus but not essential.

· Previous experience in school operational management.

· Working knowledge of accounting practices, HR Management and industrial relations and WHS legislation.

· Proven leadership experience.

· Sound working knowledge of management information systems.

· Excellent English language skills. Whilst not essential, fluency in the German language would be a distinct advantage.

· The ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.

· WWCC clearance.
