About the Position
As the Team Leader for Engineering & Construction (VET), you will be responsible for providing management and leadership to your discipline teams across CDU campuses and delivery sites. Reporting directly to the Deputy Chief Executive – Trades & Primary Industries, you will be responsible for planning, budgeting, team management and training programs that meet client needs as well as driving student and client-focused education and training programs that align with ASQA and CDU strategic goals and contribute to economic, community and workforce development.

Team Leaders are entrusted with developing and maintaining high-level internal and external stakeholder relationships and facilitating the delivery of educational and training services ensuring compliance with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA), the VET Quality Framework and CDU internal processes and policies. The position will negotiate an appropriate teaching load annually with the amount of teaching based on the needs of the team and the capacity to meet team targets.

About You
To be successful, you will require:

  • Education, training and/or relevant industry experience equivalent to completion of Certificate III or higher qualifications in Carpentry or Manufacturing & Engineering fields.
  • Demonstrated high level leadership and management skills with the proven ability to deliver outstanding outcomes in a training focused organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams in a dynamic and increasingly competitive market, including planning, identifying, and managing budgets and physical and human resources.
  • Well-developed practical research skills of a level to assess client needs and to develop and implement effective business case reports and proposals.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Workplace Health and Safety legislation, policy, and procedure in the workplace.

Desirable competencies

  • Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of the VET Quality Framework and the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA)

Remuneration
Appointment to this role will be at VET Academic Level B. The base salary will be in the range of $112,710 - $133,262 per annum. The total remuneration package will be in the range of $131,870 - $155,916 per annum, including 17% superannuation.
