You will be joining an exciting food and beverage team that works in a 460-room Hotel located in the heart of bustling World Square. Our conference and events venue with natural light offers 11 rooms with 600 square meters of flexible space that can accommodate up to 550 people!

About the role

Join a dynamic team to deliver seamless, high-quality events at Rydges World Square. Our team is results driven, ensuring exceptional guest experiences. You will communicate with other departments, contribute to the C&E team's budgets, and drive innovation. A hands-on role perfect for passionate Event and hospitality professionals!

Duties

Liaise with the event organiser/client to confirm event requirements and formulate a professional and accurate event proposal/ co-ordination of confirmed events.

Take a proactive approach to the sale of the hotel's facilities ensuring all upselling opportunities are capitalised on.

Maintain professional business confidentiality at all times.

Managing event administration tasks, ensuring the team is up to date with all critical due dates for contracts, final numbers, posting, payment etc.

Follow all procedures with regard to deposits and payment schedules for all event bookings and special event bookings

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Assist in following up on pending quotes and convert tentative bookings as per EVT's sales flow.

Undertake competitor analysis on a regular basis to ensure the hotel remains market competitive and meets (or exceeds) monthly targets.

Attend all relevant sales and operation meetings

Attend client events onsite and offsite as requested by Director of Sales - C&E and Director of Sales. May require out of business hours’ attendance.

Conduct site inspections as required including clients and third-party suppliers

To be fully conversant with the products, packages and capacities of the banquet department and hotel outlets in order to be able to provide professional advice and guidance to prospective clients and to sell the space appropriately.

Skills & experience

Background in conference and events, preferably in hotels

A high level of professional presentation

Degree or diploma in event management or a related field preferred.

Experience working with IVVY preferred.

The ability to work under pressure while engaging in a friendly and comfortable atmosphere
