About the role

AAS Truck Bodies' is seeking a skilled Vehicle Body Builder/Boilermaker to join our team in our Acacia Ridge, Queensland location. This is a full-time opportunity to contribute to the construction and maintenance of high-quality commercial vehicle bodies and components, including trays, curtainsiders, tippers and service bodies.

What you'll be doing

Perform welding, fabrication and assembly of custom vehicle bodies and componentry

Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to create customised vehicle bodies

Operate various power tools, hand tools, and welding equipment to shape, cut, and join metal components

Collaborate with the engineering and production teams to ensure vehicle bodies meet quality and safety standards

Undertake preventative maintenance and repairs on existing vehicle bodies

Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations and procedures

What we're looking for

Formal qualifications in Boilermaking or a related trade

Proven experience in the fabrication and assembly of commercial vehicle bodies or similar metal structures

High proficiency in MIG welding techniques

Strong technical skills in welding, cutting, and shaping metal

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

Knowledge of relevant workplace health and safety regulations

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

Teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
