HR & Business Support Officer

Who We Are

At Kestrel Cleaning Services and Supplies PTY LTD, we don’t just clean — we create dependable partnerships with businesses that value quality, consistency, and care. For over two decades, we’ve built a reputation as Port Hedland’s trusted commercial cleaning professionals. We’re a company driven by people, values, and results — and we’re growing!

Our mission is to exceed expectations and create positive experiences for every client and team member.

Who We're Looking For

We’re seeking a confident and adaptable HR & Business Support Officer to join our busy office team. This is a hands-on role responsible for leading the employee lifecycle and providing flexible support across key office functions.

From recruitment and onboarding to compliance, conflict resolution, and timesheet audits — you’ll play a critical role in ensuring our team is supported, safe, and set up for success.

This is a 12-month full-time position. While it is fixed-term, future opportunities within the company may become available for the right person.

Responsibilities

Use your experience to:

• Coordinate all aspects of the employee lifecycle – recruitment, onboarding, training, and offboarding.

• Promote and support employee health, safety, and wellbeing.

• Assist with Toolbox Talks and training delivery alongside the Operations team.

• Manage incidents, misconduct, and conflict with professionalism and discretion.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records, systems, and compliance documents.

• Conduct site audits to ensure safe, compliant, and consistent practices.

• Support performance reviews, training coordination, and dispute resolution.

• Review and approve fortnightly timesheets to support payroll.

• Provide backup support across other key office functions when needed.

Experience

To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

• Proven experience in a human resources or administration role.

• Strong understanding of safety, compliance, and fair work practices.

• Exceptional organisational and time-management skills.

• Confidence working independently and maintaining confidentiality.

• High attention to detail and effective communication skills (both written and verbal).

• The ability to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.

Competencies

• People Skills: Build rapport and support staff across all levels of the business.

• Collaboration: Work cohesively within a team to achieve shared goals.

• Communication: Be approachable, clear, and professional.

• Organisation: Keep things running smoothly, with accurate records and consistent follow-through.

• Problem Solving: Confidently manage challenges and seek the best outcomes.

• Time Management: Prioritise tasks and meet deadlines with ease.

• Critical Thinking: Make informed decisions based on evidence, context, and policy.

Core Values

• Teamwork: We work together toward the bigger picture.

• Dependability: We follow through on our commitments and act with integrity.

• Loyalty: We build long-term trust with clients and our team.

• Innovation: We embrace improvement and better ways of working.

• Knowledge: We strive to grow and lead as industry experts.

• Excellence: We go above and beyond for our clients and each other.

Outcomes

• A compliant and well-supported workplace environment.

• Streamlined recruitment and onboarding processes.

• Accurate and secure employee records and systems.

• Effective support across HR and office functions.

How We Will Help You Succeed

We’re committed to your success and will provide:

• Full training on our systems, tools, and processes.

• Ongoing support from a tight-knit, friendly team.

• A values-driven workplace where your contributions are recognised.

• Flexibility around working hours where possible.

• Opportunities to be part of a growing, evolving business.
