Protech are hiring Fitters and Mechanics for a 3-6 month project with a major national rail business with the potential to lead to much more, and a foot in the door with a major player in the rail industry!

Scope of Work:

• Overhauls, refurbishment, preventative maintenance to all rail rollingstock including: Freight and coal wagons, bogies, passenger cars and locomotives
• General component maintenance including Installation and removing parts and components in locomotives including: engines, engine silencers, bogies, traction motors
• Airbrake, coupler and pneumatic equipment overhauls
• Operating overhead crane and forklift within the workshop
• Monday to Friday 0600-14:30 8hr days. Occasional Saturday and Afternoon shifts
• Pay rate $52.50 + Penalties
• 3-6 month Project
• Begin immediately (Flexible)

Key Requirements:

• Must hold a trade qualified mechanical trade qualification
• Have a proactive approach all HSE requirements
• Experience with the repair and maintenance of heavy industrial plant
• Extensive knowledge of equipment functions, defects, and fault-finding.
• High attention to detail and record keeping skills
• High level problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team
• Previous experience working in the rail industry desirable but not essential
