A position is available from May 2025 on our Irrigated cotton and grain farming operation. The position also requires time at our grazing property 150km South.

Baartz Farming is a family farming operation in business for over 50 years. We are conservative adopters of new technology and farming practices and have adopted practice's to improve sustainability.

We have a hands on approach to most aspects of our work which offers a wide exposure to many different skill sets and industries. A small workforce of 3 to 4 means everyone shares in the full experience. This position will provide challenges with crops and livestock needing that little extra to make all the difference to the final outcome. Because of this, extra hours will at times be required however we also respect the value of a work/ life balance.

Tasks include but aren't limited to:

Machine operation: Tractors, (Mostly Rowcrop), Sprayer, Telehandler, Dozer, Grader, Excavator, MC Trucks, Forklift etc.

Manual labour: Irrigation, Engineering, General Maintenance, Fencing and limited stock work.

Management: Logistics for trucks and processing equipment, Irrigation management, Liaising with supplier's for products and working with personnel from other company's who's sites we operate at.

The applicant must possess an ability to work unsupervised and manage their day to day activities however support is always available. This is facilitated through farm networks ensuring connectivity to phone and internet in most areas.

The applicant must show a high level of ability in at least one of the tasks outlined.

The applicant must have a reasonable level of physical fitness due to the nature of the physical tasks required.

Qualifications that would be helpful include:

Truck and Industry Licenses, with time as operator in at least one of the equipment classes mentioned. Current Chemcert, Ag Course Certification.

Experience that is preferred:

Machine operation and some management responsibilities, good mechanic and welding skills, basic knowledge of fencing and stock work.
