The Opportunity

Due to ongoing growth, DevelopAg is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Excavator / Plant operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the operation, care, and daily maintenance of our fleet of modern earthmoving equipment - primarily excavators- as well as heavy vehicles and agricultural machinery. This includes but is not limited to:

Excavators - 2.5t, 5.5t, 10t and 21t – general earthworks, trenching, loading trucks and backfilling.

Dozer - D6 - general earthworks, stick raking, erosion control, clearing fence lines, ripping, and pipe laying.

Tractor – slashing, ripping, pipe laying, front-end loader operations.

Bobcat – Mulching, general earthworks, backfilling, loading trucks, erosion control.

Trencher - Vermeer 1250 chain trencher.

While the primary focus of this role is the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment, the diverse nature of our agricultural projects requires a proactive and adaptable approach. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a range of hands-on tasks as operational needs arise.

Who are you?

DevelopAg is dedicated to the development of agricultural land and pastoral holdings, often in remote and rural locations. We're seeking someone with an agricultural mindset - someone who understands the land, appreciates its challenges and rewards, and is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to its development. A genuine interest or background in agriculture is key to thriving in this role.

You must have a minimum of three (3) years' experience in operating two or more of the previously mentioned machines.

To succeed in this role, the following experience and attributes are essential:

Minimum three (3) years' experience in the operation of the above-mentioned machinery.

Mechanically minded with experience in general vehicle and machinery maintenance.

Demonstrated trustworthiness, accountability, responsibility and reliability.

Take pride in the upkeep of all plant, equipment and tools.

A positive, can-do attitude with a proactive approach to all tasks.

Strong attention to detail, ensuring the highest quality workmanship at all times.

Physically fit and healthy, with the ability to perform manual tasks.

C-Class driver’s licence (minimum).

White Card

HC Truck licence

We offer competitive, above-award wages and remuneration packages, which will be negotiable based on attitude, experience, and level of responsibility.

Flexible work roster: 2 weeks on, 1 week off.
