About the position
This position works in our IT and Business Solutions team, whose focus is to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of TEQSA’s information assets and systems. Other team objectives include providing systems and processes which support TEQSA’s capacity to identify, detect, and effectively respond to cyber security threats.
The Senior Analyst is accountable, under limited direction, for translating business needs into technical requirements, working closely with subject matter experts to clearly identify, interpret and document user needs. You will have a strong technical background supporting Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform and work experience and demonstrate a strong understanding of contemporary IT issues
The Senior Analyst will work collaboratively in a small team and actively contribute to strategic planning, continuous improvement, and decision-making activities. They will effectively identify, analyse, and manage risk and issues regarding their work, and exercise judgement appropriate for their position. They will be innovative, flexible, and able to adapt to meet immediate and future challenges, working in a dynamic environment.
Duties
As the Senior Analyst, you will be responsible and accountable for:
- Employing advanced system analysis techniques to achieve business outcomes, including requirements elicitation and analysis, estimation, planning and requirements management, process analysis and modelling, process improvement and redesign, cost benefit analysis and root cause analysis.
- Providing system administration support (as required) eg: user provisioning, and workflow management.
- Developing and maintaining documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and support & training materials in plain language and providing user training for staff as required.
- Building and sustaining effective and cooperative internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Facilitating workshops to gather information, provide advice and gain acceptance of deliverables, ensuring that these are well understood and agreed by all relevant stakeholders.
- Monitoring, analysing and reviewing business processes to identify gaps to enable development and implementation of improvement strategies. This includes identifying and resolving data anomalies and errors, maintaining a high level of data integrity.
- Conducting research, understanding user needs, identifying and recommending improvements to products, services and processes, and collaborating with the team in planning and design.
- Quality assuring TEQSA data and processes, performing root cause analysis and implementing relevant and considered controls.
- Performing other duties as directed.

- High-level communication skills including demonstrated ability to facilitate requirements gathering workshops and explain complex concepts simply and clearly with a focus on understanding stakeholder needs and gaining consensus on scope, design decisions and priority.
- High-level organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure the provision of timely, accurate and quality advice, services and products.
- Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to coordinate with required stakeholders to identify and resolve issues and deliver expected outcomes.
- Proven ability to model and encourage innovative ways of working and implement solutions that deliver outcomes that meet or exceed expectations of the business area.
- Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including business areas, implementation teams and end users to ensure technical compatibility and end-user satisfaction of services delivered.
- Demonstrated experience with CRM and related solutions eg: Salesforce, SharePoint, MS Dynamics CRM.
Qualifications and experience
The following qualifications or experience will be highly regarded:
- A relevant qualification(s) or significant relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience using Salesforce, SharePoint, MS Dynamics CRM, or other CRM solutions.
- An understanding of the domestic and global higher education sector or the ability to quickly acquire that understanding.
Eligibility
The successful applicant must:
- be an Australian citizen.
- complete a National Police Check satisfactorily.
- be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) clearance to Baseline status, supported by TEQSA.
Failure to satisfy any of the above conditions may result in the withdrawal of an offer of employment or termination of employment.

TEQSA regulates and assures the quality of Australia’s large, diverse and complex higher education sector. The Australian higher education system comprises both public and private universities, Australian branches of overseas universities, and other higher education providers with and without self-accrediting authority. Qualifications available from higher education providers range from undergraduate awards, (bachelor degrees, associate degrees or advanced diplomas) to postgraduate awards, including graduate diplomas, masters degrees and doctoral degrees.
TEQSA registers and evaluates the performance of higher education providers against the Higher Education Standards Framework - specifically, the Threshold Standards, which all providers must meet in order to enter and remain within Australia’s higher education system.
