Registered Nurse – Community-Based Role
Location: Maitland Area
Part Time Position 4 x 6 hour days OR 5 x 5 hour days – No Weekend Shifts!

About the Role:
We’re seeking a skilled and empathetic Registered Nurse to provide specialised care across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) homes in the Maitland area. In this role, you will work closely with participants and support workers to ensure the highest quality of care, including:
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records for each participant, ensuring compliance with regulations and organisational standards.
Working with complex participants to assist with the management of bowel care, enteral feeding, tracheostomy care, urinary catheters, ventilation, subcutaneous injections, incontinence, Diabetes, seizures, wound management, etc.
Providing workplace coaching, guidance and supervision to support workers to ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards, high-intensity support skills, and handling specific health-related needs.
Offering health education to participants, promoting independence and self-care wherever possible.
Provide written and verbal reports on the social, physical and emotional well-being of participants to the Client Services Manager and collaborate with them to achieve quality outcomes for residents.
Offering hands-on assistance with the care of people with a disability where required.

What We’re Looking For:
A current AHPRA Registered Nurse (unrestricted) with full working rights in Australia
At least 5 years of experience post-registration
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to work alongside diverse healthcare teams
Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills
A genuine passion for working with NDIS participants
A current driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain
Highly Desirable:
Experience in managing respiratory conditions such as asthma, COPD, and tracheostomy care
Experience in managing PEG feeding tubes and providing enteral nutrition therapy
Knowledge of the care and maintenance of indwelling urinary catheters, including monitoring for complications and performing routine assessments
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment
