Newtown Mission:

A Parish Mission of the Uniting Church in Australia with multiple sites across the Inner West of Sydney. Newtown Mission is building community engaged in creativity and compassion, fuelled by our Christian commitments. We are engaged in a wide range of activities including emergency food and welfare support, regular Christian worship, affordable housing, a Creative Arts centre, and developing local community connections.

The Role:

1. Coordinating the internal communications across Newtown Mission (group emails, newsletters, volunteer updates, leaflets, posters)

2. Developing and implementing the social media engagement across Newtown Mission.

3. Enabling staff and key volunteers to contribute to Newtown Mission’s social media presence.

4. Coordinating Newtown Mission’s external communication and branding

5. Coordinating the contact management system of staff, members, and volunteers; including the appropriate privacy and risk managements

6. Working with the senior ministry team to coordinate the fund-raising and marketing events across Jordan Cafe.

Skills and Experience:

- Experience in Social Organisations/ NFP communications

- Graphic design and social media skills

- Awareness of fundraising requirements

- Ability to work well within a team, across multiple sites.

- An understanding of, and commitment to the work and life of the Uniting Church.
