Emergency Management Coordinator
Location: Blacktown, NSW
Salary: $126,163.44 + Super + Leaseback Vehicle
Work Type: Full Time, Permanent

Public Sector People are proud to be partnering with Blacktown City Council to recruit a proactive and community-minded Emergency Management Coordinator. This role is an exciting opportunity to help shape the resilience, safety and preparedness of one of the state’s most dynamic and diverse local government areas.
About the Role: You will be responsible for delivering Council’s emergency management functions and programs. This includes coordination of emergency planning, preparation, response and recovery, while acting as Council’s Local Emergency Management Officer (LEMO).
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the development and implementation of the Local Emergency Management Plan and Recovery Plan.
- Delivering disaster adaptation and emergency education initiatives.
- Leading interagency coordination and stakeholder engagement.
- Providing expert advice on Council’s compliance, risks and policies related to emergency preparedness and recovery.
What You’ll Bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Emergency Management or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of emergency management legislation including the State Emergency and Rescue Management Act 1989.
- Demonstrated experience in developing emergency and disaster recovery plans.
- Experience working with local communities, emergency services and government agencies.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and reporting skills.
- Experience in a LEMO or deputy LEMO capacity.
- Familiarity with supporting combat agencies such as NSW RFS and SES.
