The OSHC Senior Educational Leader helps educators work within the National Quality Framework and leads in program development.
If you want to make a difference in the lives of children and their families and must ensure that children’s experiences in an Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) environments contribute towards positive learning experiences, as well as guide educator’s workplace practices to be appropriate and intentional.
Your Role
- In accordance with National Quality Framework Quality Areas 1-7 and the National Law and Regulations, the OSHC Senior Educational Leader will lead program implementation and promote best practice in line with the approved learning frameworks.
- Lead and actively participate in reflective practice discussions about program and practice, as well as develop OSHC service philosophy.
- Support Senior Program Coordinators (SPC) and Program Coordinators (PC) to up-skill their teams in best practice.
- Mentor and coach, all educators in OSHC by developing their knowledge, skills, practice, and professionalism.
- Observe children and educator interactions and make suggestions for quality engagement and intentional teaching.
- Establish systems across the services to ensure development and implementation of individual QA folders, which build evidence for Assessment and Ratings
- Attend all meetings pertaining to the functioning of Out of School Hours Care
- Willingness to attend Professional Development training opportunities.
What We Need from You
- Maintain current ‘Working with Vulnerable People’ registration.
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or Bachelor Degree in Education and Care (or equivalent as outlined by ACECQA)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children.
- Experience with the Assessment and Ratings process while working in a service.
- Demonstrated ability to coach a diverse team of Educators and ensure that they are accountable to agreed educational goals, practice, and behaviour.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of service standards and quality improvement processes in a range of children’s services.
- Demonstrated ability to provide positive leadership and contribute towards the development of a productive team culture in a diverse work environment.
- Ability to plan and prioritise work to ensure the efficient delivery of outcomes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound understanding and commitment of early and/or middle childhood contemporary theory, practice and curriculum planning.
- Current driver’s licence
- Senior First aid certification
- Mandatory Reporting certification
