About the Role:
As a casual Educator, you'll work up to 35 hours per week from 2:00-6:00pm with the option of before school care hours, plus additional hours during vacation care between the hours of 7:00am-6:00pm. Beyond direct childcare responsibilities, there is also the opportunity to contribute to administrative tasks. Your role will involve assisting with the day-to-day operations of the service, including fostering positive relationships with children, families, and the wider community, as well as managing group activities and addressing child protection and well-being concerns.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for children, promoting diversity and well-being.
- Manage split shifts effectively, balancing childcare duties with administrative tasks.
- Contribute to Work Health Safety (WHS) protocols, including risk minimisation plans and communication strategies.
- Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, and the broader school community.
- Implement routines and procedures while addressing child protection and well-being issues promptly and effectively.

Job Criteria:
You must hold the following qualifications/clearances:
- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (or be working towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care), or 2nd year Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Teaching (Birth-12 Years) student
- Have relevant experience working with 4 to 12-year-olds or in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Hold current current first aid and CRP certificates (HLTAID012) or be willing to obtain.
- Valid NT Working with Children Check (OCHRE card)
- A National Criminal History Check
Child Safety:
We require an individual who understands, adheres to, and promotes The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (The Child Safe Standards). In your position, you will create a culture, adopt strategies, and take action to promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people.
