The Package: $71,944.08 - $79,500.02 gross per annum + 11.5% super. (Evaluated as Grade 9 of the QPRC Salary System 2024) and a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26, plus potential performance-based progression.

Full time – 38 hours per week. 9-day fortnight conditions will apply.

In the waste sector at Council, you’ll be at the forefront of sustainability and essential services — guiding a dedicated team while staying actively involved on the ground. It’s a role where your leadership creates real, everyday impact.

In this role you will:

supervise and support staff to ensure cohesive teamwork and high-quality service delivery.

manage daily operations, including financial transactions and the operation and maintenance of plant and equipment.

uphold and contribute to Council’s health, safety, environmental, and quality standards and culture.

We are looking for someone who:

has relevant qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in a similar leadership role, including the ability to operate and maintain plant equipment.

can lead, motivate, and supervise staff effectively while meeting community expectations and making the best use of organisational resources.

communicates clearly and manages time and priorities well to ensure goals are achieved within set timelines.
