What You Will be Doing

Direction and oversight of the transport operations covering primarily linehaul interstate movements with some local movements facilitating loading and unloading.

Coordinating fleet repairs and maintenance at operational level, ensuring compliance in day of operations covering personnel and equipment.

Managing operational staff and liaising with customers to maximise service delivery, fleet utilisation, and yield, while minimising operational expenses.

Monitor all operations to ensure staff comply with the Company management system including policies and procedures, regulatory requirements, and customer contracts.

Actively participate in optimising operational economic performance including budget management and flow on effects to profit and loss accounts.

What We Are Seeking

At least 2 (5+ preferred) years supervising transport operations

Strong time management and deadline success

Ability to coach and mentor team members in the Company values and best practices

Strong focus on safety and work health and safety regulations and best practices

You must be able to demonstrate:

possession of a forklift licence (or you must be able to obtain this within 4 weeks of starting)

a cleared Australian Federal Police criminal check

100 points of Australian identification

Australian citizenship or at least 5 years of Australian permanent residency with supportable history of addresses and details for AFP checks

ability to hold an Australian Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)

at least 2 years of supervisory and management experience in a transportation (trucking) environment;

familiarity in the operations of a Transport Management System (TMS, Cargowise or similar experience highly desired) including demand management, planning, manifesting and completion of billing deliverables

proficiency in computer applications such as Excel, Sharepoint, and Outlook

The Fine Print

This role requires coverage of work hours outside of normal Monday-Friday business hours. You will be required to work hours before or after business hours on a rotation basis, and will be required to work a rotating roster covering weekends and public holidays (nominally 1 out of 3 weekends). Specific benefits will be explained to shortlisted candidates.

The role is currently located at Revesby in Sydney however this may change to cover airport areas (i.e. mascot region).
