ABOUT THIS ROLE
With JJ’s Waste focus on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction, we are seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Operations Supervisor for our Stapylton depot.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will support a team of 20+ employees within an operation that concentrates on both bulk solid and liquid waste transport and logistics.
Our JJ’s Stapylton operations team coordinates daily solid waste transport services (side tippers) for our waste transfer stations based in South-East Queensland along with bulk used oil transport services moving oil from various aggregation facilities (Melbourne, Brisbane, Mt Isa) to refineries in both southern NSW and Central QLD (B-Double and AB-triple tankers).
You will be working with a safe, modern and reliable fleet, serviced and maintained in our on-site workshop.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with managing all aspects of fleet safety and compliance under the Stapylton depot heavy vehicle accreditation scheme (NHVAS)
- Promote a safe and respectful work environment and ensure all regulatory requirements and company procedures are adhered to
- Work closely with the operations management team to improve fleet performance and continually increase productivity
- Oversee day to day fleet scheduling of local bulk solid waste linehaul team and Stapylton transfer station operations
- Scheduling of long-distance bulk oil movements
- Develop effective working relationships with customers, waste disposal outlets and drivers/operators to maintain proficient standards of service across all areas
- Employee engagement and performance management
- Monday to Friday depot role – occasional after-hours operations support
ABOUT YOU
- Previous logistics experience essential
- Analytical thinker
- Proven understanding of NHVR and CoR compliance
- Strong people and time management skills & the ability to prioritise competing tasks
- Ability to lead and manage teams with a focus on daily performance and efficiency
- Be adaptable to change
- Customer focused
- Heavy vehicle driving experience an advantage
- Competency with Microsoft Excel and Word
