The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Supervisor to join our team. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of all our Transport distribution activities, primarily overseeing operations at our highly respected customer's Distribution Centre.

As the Night Transport Supervisor, you will be the key point of contact for MJ Mahon Transport drivers, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, people management and maintaining high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee Night operations alternating across two large distribution centres.
• Function as the primary point of contact for MJ Mahon drivers.
• Ensure drivers adhere to Transport Management System (TMS) processes, including pre-start checks and coupling/uncoupling to company standards.
• Maintain strong relationships with both drivers and customer.
• Conduct safety toolbox talks and return updates to head office promptly.
• Ensure equipment cleanliness and perform minor repairs when necessary.
• Assist with driver training and development.
• Troubleshoot and manage breakdowns, ensuring timely communication and resolution.
• Coordinate trailer docking and parking according to operational needs.
• Consult with the Transport Manager to align equipment servicing schedules using MJ Mahon Asset Maintenance system.
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of all email correspondence and reporting.
• Driving tasks – As Required.

Weekly Roster

Saturday to Tuesday – Evenings (8:00pm to 6:00am)

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

Licensing: Heavy Combination (HC) Licence minimum requirement ,willing to upgrade to Multi Combination (MC) driver’s license.

Experience: Proven experience as a Transport Supervisor including:

• Safety and Compliance management
• Operational Management
• People Management
• Customer Service
• Problem Solving and Decision Making
• Technology and Systems
• Cold Chain Logistics
• Basic Fatigue Management (BFM) – preferred not essential.

Skills: Strong work ethic, leadership, computer (Microsoft office), organisational and time management skills.
