We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse leader to become the Director of Nursing/Facility Manager (DON/FM) at the Dirranbandi Multi-Purpose Health Service.
- The Director of Nursing/Facility Manager (DON/FM) Dirranbandi is responsible for the operational management, coordination of a rural and/or remote facility within the health service. DON/FM's are responsible for the management of staff including nurses, midwives, operational, administrative, health professionals, technical and other support services.
- The DON/FM works with an advanced level of autonomy and decision making to guide clinical services and to engage with key stakeholders including community groups.
- The DON/FM reports directly to the Director of Nursing and Midwifery / Facility Manager St George Group and professionally through to the Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery Services.

Dirranbandi is a designated Remote Area Nursing Incentive Package (RANIP) site in accordance with the Nurses and Midwives (Queensland Health) Award – State 2015. This attracts additional entitlements which may include:
- An annual isolation bonus paid annually!
- Return airfares to the nearest provincial city in conjunction with leave!
- Additional annual leave per annum!

icon A $3.3 million upgrade and refurbishment program is under way at the Charleville Hospital, as part of a $51.58 million state-wide rural hospital rectification works program due for completion by August 2015.
icon Along with the other works, another $2 million is being spent on upgrading ageing water piping at Charleville Hospital, with completion also expected by August 2015.
icon A $3 million upgrade to the Roma Hospital including updates to essential fire and electrical safety systems was completed in early 2014.
icon Master planning for the long-term future of the Roma and Charleville hospitals was completed in mid-2014 and a formal request submitted to Government for the construction of new hospitals at each centre. This request will be considered as part of future government capital works programs.
icon A $500,000 refurbishment of the Emergency Department at St George Hospital was completed in late 2014. The upgrade includes a triage area to improve workflow and patient confidentiality. icon A new seven-bed sub-acute/rehabilitation service at Roma Hospital was opened in mid-2014. The unit provides geriatric evaluation and management, as well as rehabilitation services for the South West region.
