The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.
The Quality and Innovation Unit provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans, programs, models and policies for improving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health and Well-being. The Unit will develop and manage to maturity; enhanced service delivery models in new and expanded functional IUIH services and programs.
About the Role?
The purpose of the BiOC Project Officer is to support the development, coordination and integration of BiOC service delivery to strengthen capacity within our community and our workforce.The position will work within the BiOC Service Development team, which is accountable for development, implementation, and expansion of the Birthing in Our Community Program improving outcomes and the wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families across SEQ.
Your day-to-day duties may include:
- Oversee the ongoing development and refinement of community engagement activities aimed at increasing promotion, awareness, access and uptake of BiOC and early learning services
- Implementing initiatives regionally that increase the knowledge and understanding of our workforce around Social Determinants of health
- Work closely with BiOC partner’s agencies, the broader ATSICCHS network and the HHS to continue to refine the program and specialized Birthing and Early Childhood Services
- Lead the review, enhancements and training schedule for the Family Support Worker and Transporter positions
- Drive initiatives to support partners integration successfully into the IUIH / BiOC System of Care
About You?
- Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
- Current Criminal History Check or willing to apply
- Valid Blue Card or willing to apply
Desirable, but not mandatory:
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
