About the Roles

The positions are required to project manage various priority capital works projects of differing complexity for a range of internal clients to deliver positive and sustainable outcomes to the Sunshine Coast Council region.
Successful candidates will:
Coordinate and Project manage medium to large infrastructure projects and priority projects for the region, primarily across the design and construction phases, including project planning, procurement, financial management, and consultation with the provision of an advisory service to stakeholders, clients and the public.
Provide advice to Councillors, Council personnel and the public on policy matter and projects, requiring the assessment of the work of other professionals and/or the management of external consultants.
Assist in establishing work processes to meet Branch and Departmental priorities by monitoring, controlling, and reporting on the various projects allocated to the Unit.
Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of systems, procedures, and operational standards to facilitate effective administration of the Branch and achievement of Council’s corporate objectives.
Liaise with other Council Departments, Government agencies and Council clients to ensure that projects are planned, coordinated, and implemented in accordance with statutory obligations and Council objectives.
Preparation of project management plans, the provision of regular concise project status updates and the management of project issues when they arise.
Preparation of consultancy briefs, scopes, charters and prepare contract works quote and tender briefs, evaluate submissions and manage parties contracted to Council as required.
Assist in the review and implementation of branch project delivery process and procedures, including the development and use of project management and quality systems.
About you
As a requirement of this role, you will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Engineering, Architecture, Planning, or other similar qualifications relevant to the field and substantial relevant experience.
You will also hold a Queensland White Card/Construction Industry Induction Card.
You will have substantial experience in infrastructure planning and design, and within the construction management phases of delivery on a medium to large scale.
You will possess an innovative attitude with the ability to think logically, creatively and laterally and implement solutions.
You will be a strong communicator with advanced interpersonal and communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to facilitate successful project team outcomes.
You will have the capability and experience to lead consultants and stakeholders through the planning, design and construction stages of a project keep them on program and budget.
You will have the ability to research projects, monitor, coordinate and deliver infrastructure outcomes through all phases.
It is essential that you have comprehensive knowledge of (or the ability to quickly acquire) relevant industry, State Government and local government legislation and policy.
Your ability to quickly acquire knowledge will also contribute to achieving positive outcomes, along with your demonstrated leadership skills.
