Your Opportunity
The Senior Procurement Officer will liaise with all Council Directorates and work within legislative guidelines and Council’s procurement policy in the preparation, review and management of contracts and tenders to ensure fairness and equity is maintained at all times.
Term: Temporary Full-time (6 months)
Hours of Work: 72.5 hours per fortnight
Pay Level: $3,061.70 - $3,258.83 per fortnight (Level 4), plus superannuation and annual leave loading
In accordance with Council's Enterprise Agreement and the relevant Award. Pay rate dependant on relevant skills and experience.
Employment Base: Warwick, Queensland

- Development and management of Council’s various contracts during the procurement process and contract period.
- Prepare and review Council’s tendering and quotation process.
- Compiling tender documentation.
- Review all Requests for Quotations.
- Assist in the training of staff across Council in the preparation of Requests for Quotations.
- Responsible for the delivery of procurement induction to new staff.
- Assist with setting up the appropriate selection criteria for all tenders and quotations with realistic weightings.
- Assist with compiling reports to Council, where applicable, seeking adoption of any recommendations made on the successful tenderer.
What You Will Need
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- The legal right to live and work in Australia
- Relevant qualification of at least diploma level or substantial relevant experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated experience in contract administration, negotiation and contract administration
- Well-developed knowledge of procurement requirements under the Queensland Local Government Act 2009 and Local Government Regulation 2012
- Experience in Technology One, Adobe and MS Office, particularly using MS Excel
- Highly developed interpersonal skills combined with highly effective written communication skills with demonstrated experience in preparing reports, submissions, presentations and correspondence to a professional standard
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes, problem solve and provide solutions that are customer focused and within legislative guidelines.
- To be able to demonstrate your competence in relation to all of the Selection Criteria as detailed in the Position Description.
