Newcastle Steel Frames and Trusses are a family owned and operated business located in Morisset providing lightweight steel framing solutions to the construction industry. We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Payroll / Administration Assistant to join our friendly team.
Our ideal candidate:
You are a passionate and talented individual with previous payroll and administration experience, an eye for detail, coupled with excellent customer service skills. You have exceptional people skills and are capable of working as part of a small, close-knit team of administration staff and thrive in a busy environment.
To achieve success in this role you will have:
• Previous experience in a Payroll / Administration role.
• Excellent time management skills, ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
• High level organisation skills. Ability to plan ahead, and prioritise work in a systematic and organised way.
• Exceptional attention to detail and data inputting with high levels of accuracy.
• Ability to analyse sensitive information and problem solve using clear analytical thinking; whilst maintaining the highest level of confidentiality at all times.
• High level computer skills, proficient in working with Xero software as well as but not limited to Microsoft products.
• High level of written and verbal skills.
• Knowledge of relevant state and federal legislation and its application to the payroll process (e.g. Superannuation, Long Service Leave, Parental Leave and Payroll Tax, etc.)
• Understanding of employment instruments where they relate to pay related provisions under the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Able to follow directions from senior staff and work well individually/unsupervised and also as part of a wider team working collectively toward achieving shared business goals.
• A friendly, can do attitude and willingness to learn our systems and procedures.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Timely and accurate weekly payroll processing ensuring compliance to a varied range of awards and industrial instruments.
• Assisting our Finance Manager.
• General administration tasks.
• Reception duties.
• Compiling and enter daily time sheets
• Data entry of new employee information
• Timely and accurate completion of PAYG, superannuation, leave and termination payments as required
• Completing subcontractors weekly payments, ensuring correct documentation has been supplied prior to approving.
• Responding to employee payroll and enquiries, update employee files, complete reconciliations and payroll/finance reporting requirements.
• Maintaining the accuracy of the payroll system including employee records, hierarchy changes, and identify system improvement opportunities etc
This is a permanent part-time position working approx. 15 hrs per week, with an attractive salary package on offer for the successful candidate.
