• Working with a team of dedicated early childhood teachers and educators delivering our 3- and 4-year-old kindergarten program
• Currently based at Rhonda Davis kindergarten and Milleara Gardens kindergarten, with kindergarten location subject to yearly roster changes based on community need
• Permanent part time opportunity, working 19 hours per week across two kindergarten locations during kindergarten terms
• Annualised salary model available with regular salary across all kindergarten holidays
• Salary commencing at Educator level 2, $38.80 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation

The opportunity

Working collaboratively within our team of early childhood teachers and educators, this position will see you implementing high-quality, innovative play-based programs that meet the learning and development needs of children attending 3- and 4-year-old kindergarten. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following:

• Working according to the Child Safe Standards, National Quality Framework and curriculum frameworks.
• Working in collaboration with the team to plan and implement play-based programs.
• Documenting children's learning, development, interest and abilities, including setting individual and group goals.
• Initiating and promoting warm and intentional interactions with children as a key learning strategy.
• Contributing to the development and delivery of curriculums within the learning program.
• Assessing and redesigning learning programs in collaboration with the kindergarten teacher.
• Collaborating with the wider Family and Children team, including preschool field officers, maternal and child health nurse and other professional services.

About You

• Diploma of Children's Services or equivalent, as recognised by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and in accordance with the Education and Care National Law Act 2010 & the Education and Care National Services Regulations 2011.
• Relevant experience in working in children's services in line with Child Safe Standards, National Quality Framework and curriculum frameworks.
• Demonstrated understanding of Victoria's Child Safe Standards.
• Ability to self-manage work requirements in liaison with kindergarten teacher and supervisor, taking a leadership role as required.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other early childhood teachers, educators and the leadership team to provide appropriate culturally sensitive and inclusive educational programs.
• Hold a current and valid, or willingness to obtain: Working with Children's Check, First Aid Level 2, CPR Certificate, Anaphylaxis Management and Emergency Asthma Management certificates.
