The Role
The Retail Marketing Manager is a pivotal role which will oversee the creation, implementation and management of the annual marketing calendar. This includes national campaigns, regional product rollouts, local area marketing, new product launches and events.
This role will drive brand growth and market leadership while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve success.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, the Retail Marketing Manager will lead content creation, budgeting, competitor analysis and ensure the delivery of marketing initiatives aligned with overall business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Annual Marketing Calendar: Develop and implement the annual marketing calendar, ensuring a mix of national campaigns, regional product rollouts, local marketing efforts and new product launches.
- Content Creation & Strategy: Ensure content activities align with business objectives and marketing strategies
- Competitor Analysis: Regularly analyse trends and competitor activities, providing reports and insights to ensure brand relevance and market leadership.
- Budget Management: Plan and manage a monthly marketing budget, covering asset creation, campaigns, materials, media bookings, and agency engagements.
- Stakeholder Management: Regularly engage with key internal teams and external agencies.
Candidate Attributes and Experience
- Experience: A minimum of 5+ years in marketing, ideally within a multi-unit retail, FMCG, QSR, or similar environment.
- A degree qualification in marketing, business, or a related field.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with a results-oriented attitude, working closely with internal teams, agencies, suppliers, and external partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to present marketing strategies effectively to stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong organisational and reporting abilities, with a proactive approach to managing deadlines, deliverables and multiple priorities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage shifting priorities effectively.
- A problem-solving mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions, handle challenges and find creative solutions.
- A keen eye for identifying business opportunities, bringing creativity to commercial discussions and effectively briefing designers and agencies to create high-quality brand assets.
