About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Construction Estimator/Scheduler to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless project delivery, from initial estimates to final construction. You will collaborate with sales, administration, and construction teams to develop accurate cost estimates, manage procurement, and maintain strong supplier relationships to optimize project efficiency.

What We Are Looking For

· A self-starter with experience in preparing detailed and accurate estimates/quotes.

· Strong computer skills and proficiency in estimating software packages.

· Industry experience and/or a trade background.

· Strong communication and negotiation skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare detailed estimates and tender submissions.

· Collaborate with clients and attend site/pre-tender meetings.

· Assist with project management and contract administration when required.

· Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers.

· Coordinate material ordering and site establishment.

· Assist with construction planning and scheduling to align with budget estimates.

· Maintain and update pricing information to ensure competitive estimates.

· Identify potential project delays and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.

· Develop and implement procurement policies to comply with industry standards and regulations.

· Source and assess suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery time.

· Identify opportunities to minimize waste and improve efficiency.

Requirements

· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an Estimating role (5+ years preferred).

· Strong knowledge of construction practices, building standards, and methodologies.

· Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project requirements.

· Experience using estimating software (or ability to quickly learn new software).

· Strong cost control focus with an emphasis on maximizing profitability.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong organizational and time management abilities.

· Familiarity with continuous improvement principles.

· Basic knowledge of building codes (advantageous).
