Regional Youth Support Services (RYSS) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Youth Leadership & Resilience Hub Counsellor to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role is at the heart of an innovative program that empowers vulnerable young people aged 10–17 across the Central Coast to build resilience, improve mental health, and create positive futures.

At RYSS, we believe in walking alongside young people as they navigate life's challenges. As a Counsellor within the Youth Leadership & Resilience Hub, you will provide vital therapeutic support to young people, addressing their emotional and mental health needs. You’ll work within a collaborative, trauma-informed environment and have the opportunity to contribute to life-changing outcomes for at-risk youth.

Working as part of a dedicated team, you will:

✔️ Provide one-on-one therapeutic support and counselling to young people
✔️ Deliver mental health-focused programs and group interventions
✔️ Empower young people to develop coping strategies and enhance resilience
✔️ Address emerging mental health issues, dual diagnosis, and psychosocial disabilities
✔️ Collaborate with youth workers and external services to ensure comprehensive support
✔️ Work flexibly across RYSS locations and community outreach settings

What You’ll Bring

Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field

Experience in providing therapeutic support to young people

Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice and youth mental health

Experience working with vulnerable or at-risk youth, including dual diagnosis

Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills

A commitment to creating positive change in the lives of young people
