We currently have an opportunity for a Community Development Officer (Youth) to join our team.
As a Community Development Officer (Youth) you will:
- Provide support to SENTRAL Youth Services and community development programs
- Identify and assess recreational, vocational, educational, health and social needs of young people in the Kiama Local Government area, and to develop and deliver programs that address these needs
- Develop and foster relationships with a range of community stakeholders including local schools and youth service providers.
What we offer...
- Casual role offering flexibility
Hourly rate of pay from $53.12 to $58.57 inclusive of 25% casual loading
(salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience) - 11.5 % superannuation
What you'll need to be successful in the role...
- A minimum Certificate IV qualification in Youth Work, Community Services/Welfare or another relevant field
- Experience working as a youth worker or working in a related community/educational discipline
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with young people and individuals from variety of backgrounds
- Knowledge of youth culture, youth services sector and issues impacting young people and the wider community
- The ability to research matters impacting young people, identify needs, and provide up to date and appropriate support and referral options
- The ability to respond calmly and safely in challenging situations
- The ability and willingness to work at short notice, after hours and/ or weekend
- A minimum Class C Driver’s Licence.
