About us:

Council of Mayors (SEQ) was established in 2005 to represent the interests of the fastest growing region in Australia. Council of Mayors (SEQ) Resilient Rivers Portfolio Management Office (PMO) has been established to lead the collaboration with South East Queensland councils and the Queensland Government in the delivery of the Resilient Rivers Initiative: SEQ Waterways and Wetlands Investment Strategy.

The role:

The Project Support Officer will provide high-level administrative and project management support to the RRSEQ PMO, including reporting, secretariat duties, managing contracts, research and analysis, and supporting project management and delivery, working closely with the Director, Program Lead, Senior Project Officer, RRSEQ Catchment Coordinators, Local and State government officers and other stakeholders to successfully identify, coordinate and deliver an allocated program of work, including strategic projects and initiatives. The role will also require strong communication and stakeholder management, to support new opportunities for program partnership and investment.

Key responsibilities:

As a team member of the RRSEQ PMO, work closely with partners and key stakeholders to develop, coordinate and deliver an investment program across RRSEQ’s strategic focus areas which strategically delivers on RRSEQ’s vision and goals. This includes supporting the delivery of the annual Resilient Rivers Investment (RRI) Program, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines, budget and scope management.

Manage arrangements and contracts with investing partners as well as suppliers to deliver projects and initiatives efficiently and maximise return on investment. This includes satisfying all Partner funding and grant requirements and partner outcomes.

Support the RRSEQ PMO in the development and implementation of Catchment Action Plans (CAPs).

Coordinate technical advice, planning studies and investigations to support project identification and development.

Implement monitoring and evaluation tools and processes for assessing effective and efficient delivery of investment and ultimately the desired outcomes (benefits realisation).

Work with Local Government Catchment officers and provide coordination and support in their collaborative roles with Local Government.

Provide critical support to the RRSEQ PMO including through the successful implementation of RRSEQ governance, managing stakeholders and regional program relationships.

Knowledge & experience

Demonstrated experience in managing projects and devolved grant programs or similar functions.

Demonstrated experience in the management of contracts and agreements for project management and delivery and proficiency in project management principles and approaches.

Proven ability to navigate complex environments and operate across boundaries to achieve mutually beneficial and sustainable outcomes and to resolve issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in a related discipline or relevant industry experience desirable.

Formal qualifications in project management or relevant industry experience desirable.

Current C class driver’s licence.
