Our client, a Commonwealth Government organisation whose focus is to provide support to Australian's living with disability, are Seeking the experience of a Senior DevOps Engineer for a long 12 + 12 month contract based in ACT, NSW, QLD, SA, VIC or WA.

Duties of the Senior DevOps Engineer

• Leading the design, development, deployment, and support of the client's Cloud & Data Infrastructure.
• Prioritizing and managing the work queue to ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
• Ensuring that all solutions adhere to integration best practices.
• Play a key leadership role in project teams, utilising an agile development framework.
• Engaging with stakeholders to define project requirements, set priorities, and deliver results.

Skills and Experience Required

• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure & services, with proven ability to design, implement, & manage scalable cloud solutions.
• Strong experience in building & deploying DevOps practices, tools, & continuous delivery pipelines, including GitLab, GitHub, Artifactory, & Jira, to streamline development workflows.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform for automating infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Proficiency with version control systems like Git, combined with a solid understanding of agile development methodologies to support collaborative, iterative development.
• Ability to write and maintain moderately complex code across multiple programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, and Golang.
• In-depth experience with containerization, cluster deployment, and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring efficient application delivery and management.
• Experience with database deployment and administration, particularly with Postgres and MySQL, for efficient data management and performance optimization (desired).
• Proficiency in administering Azure infrastructure, expanding multi-cloud capabilities alongside AWS (desired).
• Strong understanding of networking, including designing, managing, and troubleshooting network configurations in cloud environments (desired).
• Familiarity with HashiCorp Vault for securing sensitive data and managing secrets across cloud infrastructure (desired).
