Casual Relief (multiple positions)
Level 2, $46.67 per hour, inclusive of casual loading + superannuation
The Town of Gawler is seeking enthusiastic and people-oriented casual Library Officers. The library team are responsible for providing high quality public library services to the community. As a casual position, hours offered will vary and there are no minimum guaranteed hours per week.
The primary objectives of this position include:
Providing excellent customer service to all customers
Assisting customers to access collections and resources in the Gawler Libraries and in the wider One Card network
Assisting customers to access library technology and products, including the online catalogue, public access PCs, printing and photocopying, online library resources and apps
Actively promote Library and Council programs and activities
Delivering a quality information service that includes reference enquiries, reader’s advisory and support, general community information and general Council information
Registering new library customers and updating existing records
Lending and returning library items, and processing daily crate deliveries
Shelving, shelf reading, shelf tidying, stocktaking and general tidying
Accurately process and receipt Library and Council payments including rates, expiations and registrations.
Through a Memorandum of Understanding with the Adelaide Plains Council, casual Library Officers work across the Gawler Libraries branches (Civic Centre and Evanston Gardens) and the Adelaide Plains Library Service (Two Wells). This position will involve working evenings and weekends across both Library services.
The successful candidates will possess excellent customer service skills, an enthusiasm for the role of public libraries, the ability to work cooperatively as part of a team, and demonstrated library experience, either paid or volunteer.
To be successful in this position, you must have a satisfactory police clearance.
