About the role
Edith Cowan University Student Guild is seeking a Casual Election Support Officer to join our Election Support team in Joondalup and Mount Lawley. As a Casual Election Support Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful execution of student guild elections, ensuring a fair and transparent process. This is a casual position required during the election voting period 27th May to 29th May, with an online training module required to be completed before this date and potential in-person meeting with the Returning Officer also required.
What you'll be doing
Managing candidate activities during the specified voting period to ensure the integrity of the Election.
Maintaining a high level of customer service, personal presentation in both behaviour and actions, as a representative of the Student Guild.
Referring any matters pertaining to candidate behaviour to the Returning Officer.
Assisting with campaign area preparation, as directed by the Returning Officer.
Assisting with voter registration, as required.
Any other duties as reasonably required by the Returning Officer.
What we're looking for
Individuals with demonstrated experience in electoral processes will be highly regarded
A commitment to fairness, impartiality, and upholding democratic principles
Hold a current (obtained within the past 6 months) or able to obtain a National Police clearance.
Right to work in Australia.
Availability to work at either ECU Joondalup Campus or ECU Mount Lawley Campus during the voting period (Tuesday 27th May to Thursday 29th May 2025, between 10am and 8pm (Exact times TBC)) and at other times during the election period (24th April - 29th May 2025) as required by the Returning Officer.
Must be over 18 years of age.
Must not be a student at Edith Cowan University.
