About the role

Maribyrnong location.
Ability Assist has multiple vacancies available for qualified and experienced Youth Support Workers to undertake shifts based in Maribyrnong providing support.
We are seeking experienced Youth Support Workers to assist with a young female with complex behaviours due to disability and trauma.
You will be provided with training, including behaviour management.

Key responsibilities include
Provide high quality support to the clients in accordance with their support plan.
Deliver support to clients in line with the behaviour support plan
Duties will include attending to personal care and all aspects of daily living
Maintain accurate and timely documentation including completion of daily progress notes.
Collaborate with healthcare professions to ensure comprehensive supports are delivered.
About you
Demonstrated experience providing active support to a person with complex behaviours.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, Family, team members and various stakeholders.
Compassionate, considerate, empathetic, and sensitive to the needs of the client.
Ability to provide emotional support and capable of building trust and rapport with clients.
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
Strong level of resilience.
Experience working with young people living with Autism
To be successful you will have
Certificate IV in Children, Youth and Families preferred, although other relevant qualifications will be considered.
All four top up units
Full Victorian Drivers’ Licence.
Employee Working with Children Check; (or willingness to obtain).
NDIS Worker Screening check.
Right to work in Australia.
Current First Aid and CPR
