About the role

Sanctuary Family Solutions is seeking passionate and experienced Youth Support Workers to join our team in Townsville, Queensland. In this casual role, you will play a vital part in supporting vulnerable young people and their families through challenging times. As a Youth Support Worker, you will work closely with our dedicated team to deliver tailored care and guidance, helping to empower young individuals and strengthen family units.

What you'll be doing

• Providing support and mentoring to young people, focusing on their personal development and wellbeing
• Assisting young people with daily living skills, goal setting and problem-solving
• Collaborating with families, caseworkers and other stakeholders to ensure holistic support
• Maintaining accurate case notes and contributing to the continuous improvement of our services
• Advocating for the rights and interests of the young people in your care

What we're looking for

• Relevant qualifications in youth work, social work, or a related field
• Experience working with vulnerable young people and their families
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
• Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
• A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people
• Flexibility to work across various shifts, including evenings and weekends
• A current driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
• QLD Working with Children's Check (Blue Card)
• First Aid Certificate
• Ability to work various shifts including sleepovers, nights and weekends
