About the role

Kathy Cares' is seeking a caring and compassionate Female Disability Support Worker to join our team in Urraween, QLD 4655 on a permanent part-time basis, working 15-20 hours per week, 1 nightshift per week, 1 weekend per month. In this rewarding role, you will provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals with disabilities, helping them to live independently and participate actively in their community.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping

Providing companionship and engaging clients in social, recreational, and educational activities to support their wellbeing

Advocating for clients' rights and ensuring their needs are met

Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalised support plans

Maintaining detailed records and reporting on client progress

Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and legislative requirements

What we're looking for

Experience in providing support to individuals with disabilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients and their families

Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of those you support

Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent

A valid driver's licence

A current First Aid certificate and Police Check
