Located some 300km from Geraldton and 650km from Perth, Murchison Settlement is entirely Council managed. The diverse portfolio includes Council office, depot, housing, power and water supply, community and recreation facilities, Roadhouse and Caravan Park.
The Role
The Murchison Shire is seeking an enthusiastic individual for the role of Works Administration Officer. This isn't just about finance and administrative tasks; it's an opportunity to collaborate, use initiative and be agile.
Your skills in data entry, administration and customer service are prized assets. In this role, you’ll work with the Shire Works Manager providing outstanding support to internal and external stakeholders, making a significant impact beyond administrative tasks and compliance. Experience in volunteering, living in rural or remote areas is considered a strength and should be included in your cover letter.
An attractive salary package is on offer depending on qualifications and experience as per the following outline:
· Base 76 hours per fortnight plus TOIL provisions.
· Full time annual salary $61,600 - $67,000 per annum. Range depends on qualifications and experience.
· Council provides superannuation at 11.5% plus a voluntary Council co-contribution up to 5%.
· An unfurnished, modern, air-conditioned residence is available for the position.
· The Shire meets all costs associated with power, water and gas utilities. Home internet services with an allocation of data and Foxtel services at a reduced cost also form part of the package. A free freight service from Geraldton operates weekly.
The Murchison Shire has an active community garden, museum, events calendar and sports club. We provide facilities that would not be expected from a “Shire with no Town”.
