The Shire of Exmouth is seeking a highly motivated and proactive Works Administration Officer to join our Operational and Infrastructure Services team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting to the Manager Works, the Works Administration Officer provides a range of high-level administration and support services to meet the needs of the Operations portfolio. The Works Administration Officer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services within the delegation to authority to ensure that Council operations are maintained to a high level.
In the role of the Works Administration Officer, you will be responsible for the implementation and maintenance of departmental office systems, including but not limited to managing the office space and the filing, storage, and security of documents; assisting and monitoring depot enquiries and Shire’s customer jobs/enquiries and recording and providing feedback to customers on progress and completion whilst ensuring you are demonstrating good public relations and customer service. The Works Administration Officer will undertake the responsibilities for the administration of tenders released through the Operations portfolio, ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are adhered to, including the preparation and administering of all tender documents, maintaining template documents, and maintaining the tender register. You will coordinate the administration of the Operations procurement practices to ensure full compliance, including but not limited to assisting in purchasing goods and contracting services, investigating supply sources, calling quotations, and providing relevant information to various officers to assist the negotiation for the purchase and supply of materials and services, ensuring suppliers maintain compliance and delivery specifications.
To successfully fulfil the requirements of this role, you will have relevant experience in Local Government administrative functions and business systems and delivery of exceptional customer service principles and practices with well-developed written and verbal communication skills. You will have advanced computer skills within a variety of programs and a high level of organisation with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks. A qualification, or relevant experience, in Business Administration or Project Administration is desirable; however, it is not essential.
The position is classified as a Level 7 under the Shire of Exmouth Enterprise Agreement 2017, with an annual base salary of $76,750 per annum.
Benefits – This role comes with the following benefits; up to 21.5% superannuation (includes a co-contribution by you), eligibility for long service leave, $5,000 housing allowance, $1,955 location allowance, uniform allowance, employee assistance program and other wellbeing services, regular RDO’s and 5-weeks of annual leave.
