My Beer Dealer is our independent off-and-on premise brand in the Brisbane craft booze industry. We aim to be a leader in our sector by championing small producers - be it wine, beer or spirits. We want to share our knowledge and passion and set a high bar for customer experience.

We currently have three unique retail shops (one of which is part wine/beer bar, part bottle shop) and an e-commerce store. The role would encompass all three sites, predominantly behind the bar at our Fortitude Valley Bar/bottle shop hybrid site. The role would be a on casual basis but could move to a full-time role to the right candidate. We can offer a minimum of 30+ hours per week and full time hours to the right candidate.

We are seeking an experienced bartender and a background in bottle shops will be a strong advantage. Your booze experience will be strongest in wine and spirits to complement a strong team in craft beer (we won’t complain if your skillset includes craft beer of course). Amazing customer service will be second nature, you genuinely love people, love creating relationships with regulars and fostering new ones.

The role includes all the usual bartending and bottle shop attendant duties, including:

- showing off your knowledge of wines and helping to curate our offering at our Fortitude Valley location;

- making cocktails with love and experience;

- taking care of small functions and sharing your knowledge of wine and spirits to these groups;

- moving stock around (you’ll need a strong core);

- playing fridge tetris with an ever-changing product offering;

- retail display and merchandising;

- adding value to the customers experience and our bottom line;

You will be a warm and engaging personality, a multi-tasker under pressure, experienced in working alone on evening shifts and be able to handle yourself with difficult customers when required. You’ll have a banging sense of humour and of course the right to work in Australia, long term. You’ll be working alongside a great existing team. This role is diverse and will appeal to those people who relish variety and a different challenge every day. There is great scope in this role to make it your own and develop it into something juicy.

You will have your own vehicle and driver’s licence as you will be required to work across multiple locations. You will be required to work weekends. You will enjoy great perks, autonomy and thrive with the responsibility given.
