This position is with the Australian Federal Government, working in a Department with a focus on improving the lives of Australians through varius programs and incentives.

Your new role

This position is focused on providing exceptional support to the Director. Your day-to-day key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Comprehensive professional email and diary management for the Director
  • Scheduling meetings and appointments across multiple timezones
  • Coordinating meeting logistics, including the preparation of meeting papers and report documents (including editing and formatting)
  • Conducting research, collecting and analysing data to prepare documents and briefing reports
  • Coordinating travel and reconciliation of monthly expenses
  • Providing secretarial support to all executive and board meetings
  • Extensive communication with a variety of external and internal stakeholders - supporting other senior Executives if and where needed
  • Carrying out projects for the Executive Team
  • Personal Assistant duties as needed


What you'll need to succeed

  • Significant experience working with senior management at EA level (minimum 3 years)
  • Advanced skills in administration and computer literacy (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint essential) and be 'tech-savvy'
  • High level writing skills, including editing/ proofreading and succinct minute taking
  • Effective time management strategies and ability to prioritise a high-pressure workload
  • Flexible, forward-thinking, enthusiastic, confident with decision-making, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Great attention to detail, demonstrated team participation and a strong customer service focus with a high level of responsiveness are essential.
