Are You a Debt Whisperer? (But Like… the Friendly Kind)
If spreadsheets, systems, and stubborn unpaid rates make your day just that little bit better, read on — you might be exactly who our client is looking for.
Our client (a leading local government authority) is on the hunt for a Rates Collections Officer who knows their way around debtor management like a barista knows their way around a coffee machine. You’re analytical, systems-savvy, and cool under pressure – the kind of person who reads legislation and actually understands it (and maybe even enjoys it… we won’t judge).
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Managing rates debts like a total pro – from early follow-ups to the trickier stuff.
- Keeping stakeholders in the loop with tact and clarity (yes, even the cranky ones).
- Making sure processes are sharp, compliant, and up-to-date with legislation.
- Supporting a team that likes to get things done (without taking themselves too seriously).
- Owning your part of the database – accuracy is your middle name.
- Constantly improving the way things are done, because “this is how it’s always been” isn’t good enough for you.
What You Bring:
- Experience in rates/debt management (bonus points if you’ve worked in local government).
- A knack for juggling multiple systems, timelines, and customer personalities – all with a smile.
- Comfort in dealing with legislation, policies, and the fine print.
- Microsoft Office and corporate databases? Easy.
- The ability to work autonomously without vanishing into the void.
Why You’ll Love It:
- Work with a values-driven, progressive team that actually has each other’s backs.
- Opportunities to help shape better systems and smarter processes.
- Be part of a council making a real impact in the community.
- Stable role with flexible working arrangements and solid work-life balance.
- Did we mention the snacks in the office kitchen? Ok, maybe not. But still, good vibes.
So if you’re someone who loves structure, systems, and maybe even enjoys chasing money (professionally, of course), hit that apply button or email [email protected] You’ll help keep the wheels of local government turning — and make the Finance team look good while you’re at it.
