The Brisbane Lions are looking for a full-time Chef/Chef de Partie to join our Hospitality team! If you thrive in fast-paced environments and take pride in delivering high-quality food, this is the role for you. The role will support the Head Chef in leading and managing the kitchen team and day-to-day operations, while ensuring high standards are maintained across our great food and service.
This full-time role will be based at Brighton Homes Arena in Springfield Central, a cutting-edge Elite Sporting Performance Facility where excellence and innovation are part of our business both on and off and the field. Reporting to the Head Chef, you’ll work across both kitchens which support our on-site café – Roar Espresso – and event/function spaces, delivering exceptional food offerings to our elite athletes, staff and venue guests.
About the Role:
· Daily food preparation of menu items ensuring quality control
· Liaise with the Front of House staff to ensure high service standards and timely delivery
· Maintain a clean and hygienic working environment ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines
· Assist the Head Chef with the management of day-to-day kitchen operations including menu engineering, stock control and rotation, roster management and cost controls
· Lead, manage and train kitchen staff to continue their development while maintaining service standards
What We’re Looking For:
· Previous experience in cafés and/or catering kitchen environments
· Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualifications
· Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations
· Positive attitude and ability to remain calm under pressure
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional service
· Ability to work independently and show initiative in a dynamic environment
· Excellent communication skills and a collaborative team player with a strong work ethic
· Knowledge and understanding of cost control, stocktake and rostering processes advantageous
· Previous experience managing casuals and/or junior staff beneficial
· Roster flexibility with the ability to work across a 7-day per week roster
