About the role:
The position of Supervisor – Parks Ellenbrook will operate on a permanent full-time basis to lead and supervise a parks maintenance team to undertake quality planned, and reactive maintenance as safely as possible to improve the quality of life for our Community. We are looking for someone solutions driven with integrity and an ability to empower a team.
Our ideal candidate will be professional, positive, safety and customer focussed and possess strong leadership skills. This role leads the team that are responsible for mowing, horticulture, reticulation and spraying activities to maintain active reserves, passive parks, and foreshore reserves as well as various street scaping, entry statements and verges in the designated area. In addition, our ideal candidate will also be proficient in the use of computers, program planning and ensuring quality works are undertaken as efficiently and cost effectively as possible and within budget constraints.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise, support and monitor City staff and contractor’s outcomes related to the maintenance of City Parks Assets (streetscapes, road reserve vegetation and other open spaces)
- Perform a mentoring/information sharing role with all new and existing employees on operational policies and procedures
- Ensure a high level of communication skills to deal with internal and external customers and willingness to make a difference to improve the quality of life for our community
- Develop and monitor Parks and Landscape maintenance programs within your designated area
- To improve the aesthetic and amenity values of reserves and public spaces for the City of Swan’s community
- Supply required information to the Coordinator with the updating of maintenance programmes as required
- Assist in the review and re-engineering of existing business processes and the development of new processes
- Participate in the development and implementation of customer service standards and programmes
- Assist with the implementation of divisional and organisational strategies and policies
- Apply all required HR, EO & WHS Policies and Procedures as required
- Ensure Timecard entry data is correct and submitted by the required timeframes

The successful candidate will have the following:
- Certifcate III or IV in Horticulture/Turf Management/Irrigation/Aboriculture, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
- Current C Class Drivers Licence
- Supervisor experience in the maintenance of parks and natural assets including work scheduling, programming, quality assurance and budgeting
- Ability to apply WHS legislative practices and guideline to ensure a safe working environment
- Good level computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office

The salary for this position will be from $81,628.92 - $96,391.46 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
