ABOUT NTS GROUP AND THE ROLE

NTS Group is a dynamic organisation that deliver programs in 3 main areas:

1. Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Maintenance
2. Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Renewals
3. Water & Wastewater Infrastructure Projects

We are based on the Gold Coast and have forged strong relationships with local utility providers. We are currently undertaking a number of large maintenance & renewals programs, as well as continuing to deliver key pipeline projects with local Government Authorities.

We are currently looking for an experienced operators who is proficient in the use of excavators from 1.7t through to 30t. Main size machine used is 4.5t .Furthermore, the person should be punctual, reliable and take pride in both the work they complete and the machine that they use.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Essential to be able to excavate within close proximity to live services at reasonable pace (gas, water, electrical, communications, sewer, etc.)
• Placing and removing shoring boxes, road plates, barriers, etc.
• Back fill and compaction activities
• Trim outs in preparation for site restoration
• Site clean ups
• Maintaining plant including performing daily pre-start checks and clean downs
• Performing civil labouring duties – operators will be required to leave the machine and assist the crew when required
• Main excavator used 4.5t Kubota Open Cab
• Importing and exporting site materials
• Complying with HSEQ internal requirements and legislation

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS

• Current and valid operator ticket – Excavator
• Preferred operator tickets – Skid Steer and Loader
• HR licence – Mandatory for application to be accepted
• Ability to drive crash-box (preferable)
• General Construction Induction Ticket (White Card)
• Minimum 5 years operating excavators
• Minimum 5 years in civil infrastructure preferably working on tier 1 or 2 projects
• Significant experience with deep excavations and forming bench and batter cut outs
• Significant experience working in brown field conditions operating in areas with high volumes of existing underground services.
• Experience operating excavators in crane mode to perform lift and shift duties
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements
• General understanding of plant mechanics and components.
