TITLE: BAR AND FUNCTIONS MANAGER

PURPOSE

Contribute to maintaining a viable financial base

and a friendly, vibrant and respectful club environment

BY

managing and delivering the Club’s bar service,

the booking and promotion of functions,

the monitoring of the meal service

and building positive relationships with club members and other customers.

CLASSIFICATION:

Level 6 under the Registered and Licensed Clubs Award 2020

TYPE OF EMPLOYMENT:

Casual

PAY RATE:

Agreed rate of $44.46 per hour (150% of base rate of $37.05 per hour) for all hours worked.

HOURS OF WORK:

Rostered on any day of the week Monday to Sunday(Normal Wednesday to Sunday)

ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Responsible for the performance of job tasks to the President (or any other appointed delegate) of the BSSC Board of Management.

Responsible for paid bar staff and volunteer bar staff.

KEY TASKS

Bar, Clubrooms, Meal Service

· Manage and provide an efficient and high-quality bar service to club members and other customers

· Recruit and manage qualified bar staff and volunteers

· Manage the ordering and monitoring of stock to meet the level of demand and favoured products

· Monitor sales figures and recommend strategies to maximise patronage and revenue

· Ensure the Club

· complies with the Liquor Licensing Act 1997

· meets Work, Health and Safety (WHS) regulations

· Ensure the bar, beer lines, kitchen and upstairs clubrooms are kept to a clean and hygienic standard

· Monitor the operation, pricing and quality of meal services so that customer needs and food safe standards are met

· Build positive relationships with club members and other customers

Functions

· Manage and operate an efficient booking system for all internal Club functions and external functions

· Implement the Board’s pricing policies for functions

· With the support of the BSSC Board, in liaison with the Football and Cricket Clubs, each season establish an agreed program of functions and minimum regular trading hours

· Promote and support the booking and delivery of external functions when clubrooms are not in use

Other reasonable duties as required from time to time

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

· Responsible Person (RP) Certificate and Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA)Certificate

· Working with Children Check (WWCC)

Desirable

· First Aid Certificate

· SITSS00069 - Food Safety Supervision Skill Set

· Hospitality qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, APTITUDE

· Bar management

· Customer service skills

· Communication skills in terms of effective listening and clear messaging

· Staff and volunteer management

· Stock management

· Food safety and meal service knowledge

· Practical knowledge of Liquor Licensing Act and WHS Regulations
