About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join the team at Accolade Projects' in our Melbourne office. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates and bid proposals. This full-time position will involve working closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and other key stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs
• Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed of industry trends, pricing, and potential cost drivers
• Collaborate with project managers and quantity surveyors to develop comprehensive bid proposals
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and other project documents to identify potential risks and opportunities
• Participate in project planning and provide input on project feasibility, design, and constructability
• Maintain detailed records and documentation of estimating processes and project costs
• Continuously look for ways to improve estimating processes and contribute to the development of estimating tools and templates

What we're looking for

• Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
• Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Proficient in the use of estimating software and spreadsheet applications
• Thorough understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices
• Commitment to maintaining accurate and detailed records
