Senior HSE Advisor

About the Role:
Mills Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading global services company for a Senior Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor. Based in Malaga, Perth, this pivotal role covers operations across Australia, New Zealand, and Papua New Guinea. Reporting to the Geozone HSE Manager and Area Director, you will play a key role in strengthening the organisation’s safety culture and ensuring safety practices deliver consistent, positive outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HSE professional looking to make a meaningful impact across a diverse geographical area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee compliance with internal safety management systems.
• Ensure safe handling and management of hazardous materials including radiation, explosives, and chemicals.
• Contribute to safety-related components of tenders and audits.
• Support continuous improvement of risk assessments and safety procedures.
• Lead or support incident investigations and emergency response efforts.
• Conduct regular facility inspections and field safety audits.
• Maintain up-to-date safety records and documentation.
• Promote safe storage and handling practices across sites.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) – required.
• 3–7 years’ experience in a health and safety role, ideally within the oil and gas industry.
• Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation and industry standards.
• Proven experience in risk management and hazard identification.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage across all levels of an organisation.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Desirable:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience in conducting incident investigations.
