Auslink Transportation P/L manufactures caravans at Campbellfield, Victoria with a workforce of 100 employees including independent contractors.
About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Design and Warranty Assessment Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) to join our team at our Campbellfield site, reporting directly to the CEO.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys a fast paced environment, highly organised, passionate and has excellent engineering and time management skills.
You will be managing a team of 6 employees and may need to travel between different dealership sites in Australia including the manufacturing plant at Campbellfield.
Your key responsibilities:
You will manage and coordinate the design of all our caravans at the Campbellfield site
Curate, oversee and conduct training of employees in all areas of the manufacturing process, quality control, testing, inspection, installations, modifications according to engineering principles and safety regulations
At all times you will coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans set by the CEO
Work closely with clients to design, develop layouts, set production schedule estimation of costs and equipment.
Conduct quality checks during the various stages of the manufacturing process and prior to delivery of caravans to the customers.
Ensure that all documentations are completed and stored according to our processes
Ensure the safety of staff by implementing Work Health and Safety guidelines as well as company policies and procedure
You will be totally responsible for all warranties on mechanical issues.
You will assess warranties request received, manage and schedule for the repairs and fit out and be the main coordinator between company and clients.
Experience & Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
minimum 3-years work experience in caravan manufacturing and production
Have sound mechanical engineering knowledge
Have a proven track record of successful leadership and previous experience in a similar role
Be a real team player with great communication and people skills
Computer proficiency, with ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Great organisation and time-management skills with an ability to meet deadlines
Ability to resolve conflicts and negotiate effectively
Your skills:
Ability to read, understand and interpret technical drawings, specifications, scope of work and production schedule.
A commitment to safety, with a focus on creating a safe working environment
Great problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Be able to manage multiple stakeholders, work with various departments and be a team player
