Mechanical Design Engineer

OGTEC provides turnkey solutions to the Resource Recovery Sector. We are a market leader in the automated separation of waste materials into high quality recycled materials.
OGTEC is currently seeking a skilled, motivated and experience Mechanical Designer Engineer to join our high performing team in our Wetherill Park office in Sydney.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Design of recycling plants including conveyors, access platforms, chutes, hoppers and support steel, using Tekla, Creo and SolidWorks, and designing from concept to completion
Create and review fabrication drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software
Perform engineering calculations to support design work
Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs
· Project management of design works on projects & management of Engineering Documentation
· Engage with clients on design reviews, changes and delivery; ensure project timeline is met and project stays within budget
Ensure our designs adhering to the relevant Australian and ISO standards within the industry
Developing work systems within the office to ensure consistency of approach among the design team and driving accountability and standards of work before it goes out to manufacture
Assisting on site with the installation and commissioning of plan
Making sure the installation runs according to plan and assisting with any issues that arise during the installation or commissioning phase
Carry out Health and Safety Risk Assessments (HSRA) of equipment designs and design for safety.
Qualifications & Experience
· Bachelor of Engineering; and
· Minimum 1 year of full-time experience in a manufacturing environment
Other Skills/Abilities
· Highly competent using Tekla or Creo 3D CAD in a workshop steel fabrication environment
· Creo/Solidworks/Tekla certifications in Weldments, Sheet Metal, Advanced Modelling would be preferred
· Solid design, component selection and product evaluation / validation experience highly desired
· Knowledge of steel fabrication methods essential
· Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability
· Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
· Must be self-motivated and a great team worker
Work Eligibility:
· Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours
