Our client, a leading engineering and automation company, is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong background in mechanical design for machinery and automation systems. The role is primarily office-based, with occasional hands-on work in the workshop.

The Role:

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be involved in designing and developing mechanical systems for automation and machinery. You will work closely with the engineering team to create high-quality solutions that enhance efficiency and performance while following safety and design standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical components for automation systems and machinery.

Create 3D CAD models and technical drawings.

Conduct feasibility studies, prototyping, and testing.

Collaborate with various teams to optimise designs for performance and manufacturability.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Troubleshoot design issues and provide engineering support throughout the product lifecycle.

Prepare technical documentation, reports, and project updates.

What You’ll Need:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Proven experience in mechanical design for machinery and automation systems.

Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).

Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.

Excellent problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
